If you are new to YPIP you probably don’t know that these are my guys. You may also not know that baseball is our first love around here. It’s what lead us to Christ and the journey of YPIP.

BUT I am admitting publicly today that football may have stolen a piece of my heart. These young boys were pushed daily past their comfort zones and learned what TEAM effort means. Football gave me new eyes and a new language to show our boys how God can use sports to teach us.

If you carry the ball it’s not a question of IF you will get tackled … it’s WHEN you get tackled how will you respond?! You can NOT carry the ball alone. You need a team to push you through your fears. The same goes for our fears in all seasons of life.

We all need our littles ones to be bold. We need them to be ok with doing the uncomfortable things. We need them to be team players. We need them to find friends that help them. And most of all we need them to see JESUS through it all. That starts with us! Today I am thankful for this game and to all the coaches who pour into these young men!
