There are going to be seasons as a player or with your team where you may not see success coming from all the time you spend practicing. Those times feel hard and painful and may even feel unfinished and unrewarded. It is easy to want to give up when it feels like that but that is exactly when you must not give up! The most growth comes from the hard times.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9

In this verse Paul is teaching us to not grow weary (give up) in using the gifts God has given us to do good. If we press on through the hard times we will see the good that came from it.

God has given you special gifts that your team needs. When times come where you don’t feel like your physical abilities are helping the team, use your ability to encourage your team with how you handle the hard times. Press on toward your end goal, trusting the process of always learning. As you choose to grow in perseverance you will begin to lead your teammates to do the same!

List some of your gifts that help the team.

Has there been a time where you or a teammate could have used some encouragement to not give up?

Use the memory verse to encourage yourself when times are hard. Perseverance is finishing its work in you.
